Construction careers promoted in Dagenham

Students were encouraged to take up a career in construction at a special event held at a major development in Dagenham.

More than 30 pupils from Robert Clack School visited the Trinity Place scheme this month (July) with teachers and representatives from the Construction Youth Trust (CYT) - a charity that encourages young people to enter the construction sector.

CYT forms partnerships between schools and businesses such as developers Countryside, who launched Trinity Place last year and has now sold all properties at the site, to provide a chance for students to learn about the diverse career paths offered through construction.

The pupils spoke to students from the Graduate Programme at Countryside, were taken on a tour of the Trinity Place site, and learned about different trades within the sector such as bricklaying, electrical work, plumbing and carpentry.
